The interweb and why it makes me bipolar.

Mon Sep 28, 2009, 6:52 PM
Inspiration, passion, muse, what ever you call that driving force, it is one of the most powerful and compelling energies in the world. It can lead a person to ruin with a desire to create, or bring passionate moments where you are left weeping and nothing can fill your soul more. A religious person might even find their god within that energy. The promise of dreams and the execution of those energies...wow. How awesome is the creative spirit?

Then it can dry up and go away? What the hell? Seriously? Did I forget to pay the monthly bill? Or was it that I forgot to get some at the store? I'm joking but, seriously very frusterated. I will occasionally get these brief flashes, where "I HAVE TO GO DRAW THAT!" and after I've started or spent time working I'm back to square one. Every thing I do looks bad, other people's stuff kills my efforts at self motivation. The interweb compounds this feeling. Art is easily accsessible, and good art in today's world is everywhere. Easy to be inspired, and easy to be knocked down.

Well screw that. I'm not going to give up and lay down in the dirt. I'm not that person. Question is: What do I use to pull myself back up into that creative high? I've tried all the usual stuff. I'm not destitute or antisocial, but I'm not finding much outside my daily routines. I've tried switching media's, and even attemted a new one. All are fun but still no burst of passion. What do working artist do when they hit this brick wall? So 'm gonna ask the deviant art community. If you read this and feel like responding, what do you do to swing back into the saddle? Any suggestions are welcome, and appreciated.
